"РУССКАЯ
During the school year, it was noted that several families are struggling with understanding the Russian language, whether it be parents or students. This creates an additional burden on the teachers, as they must spend extra time with these children in class. If a student does not understand most of what is being said, it is counterproductive. We have received requests to conduct Russian language courses in English, focused on Russian as a second language. This pilot program will include two separate classes: one for children aged 6-9 and another for children aged 10-14. This is intended for Slavic-speaking families who primarily speak English, and English-speaking families will also be welcome. The program will focus on learning the alphabet and starting to read syllable reading by the end of the program. In addition, new vocabulary will be learned, and a few conversational dialogs will be practiced. The older age group will also start learning grammatical rules and can read sentences. It is essential to spend at least an hour per week on homework with adult supervision. We hope that this initiative will benefit our church by uniting our bilingual community.
